What is FASD Network UK? FASD Network started as a support group led by families who were raising children with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders. It was founded in the Durham Tees Valley which is an area that includes: Durham, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Darlington and Redcar & Cleveland. Our work has since expanded into the north to include Northumbria, Tyneside and Wearside and also to the south to cover the Yorkshire, Hull and East Riding areas. Whilst we have a UK remit to press for change, our particular focus is on the Northern regions and we firmly believe that local services are best delivered by local people and local organisations.
FASD Network UK is now a social enterprise which is able to respond to contracting, service level agreements and spot purchasing requests with local authorities and voluntary and community sector groups across the region. We are able to provide training, consultancy and advocacy services in order to raise awareness of the condition and to provide input about service and support requirements. Please contact us if you require further details on what we can offer to you as an organisation. We are passionate about providing information, training and raising public awareness about FASD across our regions and we work hard to create strategic change at local, national and international levels.
Core Aims and Principles F - Families-first approach within a multi-disciplinary framework A - Advocacy & enablement as a fundamental principle for adults with FASD and caregivers S - Support for the prevention, surveillance, screening and diagnosis of FASD and the creation of services D - Development and training of individual families and education, health, social care and justice professionals

Strategic Development - We work with a range of partners to examine structural service deficits in the UK and advocate for change across the northern regions. Inter-disciplinary networks facilitate the ongoing development of strategic objectives to address this public heath concern and improve outcomes for people affected by FASD.
Research - We conduct our own research and work with multi-agency partners to develop research opportunities which will address knowledge gaps and promote funding of services which are currently absent. If you are interested in research then please get in touch and let us know how we can partner with you.
